Aaaaaand didn’t get the India grant. 

I knew I wouldn’t, but I had a little bit of hope. What was fucked, is that they said they picked a few people who had NO volunteer experience, so that the overseas trip would be a ‘novelty’ for them. I HAVE NEVER BEEN OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA, and have had two years of volunteer experience in one small club. 

Why ask me to elaborate on the importance of my community involvement if someone who has absolutely no involvement in volunteering is going to get picked over me anyway?

Fuck. There goes my last chance at doing something impressive for medicine.

Life fail

I have spent the last 6 hours filling out various applications for this uni grant to volunteer in India. Despite using a size 14 font and 1.5 line spacing, I am struggling to complete one page for each of the applications on career aspirations, community involvement and notable achievements. 

Makes me realise how little I’ve achieved, and how impossible applying for medicine is going to be.
